Enter my free photography contests!
I run occasional contests, the winners of which are announced two weeks after the closing date.
These free photography contests may be themed or, in the case of the very first contest, which ran from 1st May 2011, will remain open for you to submit work as you see fit.
Not only will there be the glory of winning but there will also the opportunity to win great prizes awarded to:
- The Overall Winner
- The Winner of The People's Vote
Visit The Winners' Gallery to see the cream of the crop so far!
As each contest is launched, a dedicated page and entry form will be created.
You can also find details of my contests at The Artists' Bill of Rights and here:

Judging...
The final decision as to the overall winner of each contest is judged by me or, occasionally, a guest judge.
As outlined in The Rules:
"This will be the image which, in the judge's opinion, is the most original, of the highest quality and meets the theme most accurately."
Personally, I love it when entrants really show how photography can enable us, the audience, to truly understand and feel what it was like to be there when the photograph was made...
It's quite a skill and one that will have you rocketing towards the hallowed Shortlist if executed well!
Visit The Winners' Gallery to view previous winning entries.

The Shortlist...
Once the deadline for each contest elapses, the entries are whittled down to form The Shortlist of 25 images.
For two weeks, visitors can then partake in The People's Vote.
It's simple, the image that receives the most votes from visitors will win The People's Vote.
The Prizes...
Previous contests have kindly been sponsored by X-Rite who have generously giving away two fantastic prizes...
The Overall Winner received a new X-Rite ColorMunki Display screen calibrator worth £139!

As X-Rite describe on their site:
"It’s time to stop guessing and start knowing that the color on your monitor or projector is accurate."
An X-Rite ColorChecker Passport worth £82 went to the winner of
The People's Vote.
My huge thanks to X-Rite for their generous sponsorship of my contests.

Please make sure you understand and agree to The Rules before submitting.
Here's a summary of some of the most salient points:
- Submitted photographs must be the original work of the entrant;
- ONE entry per competition is allowed per person;
- Copyright remains with the entrant;
- By entering, the entrant agrees that I can publish and promote their image(s) appropriately within the context of these competitions;
- All judging decisions are final.
This is purely a showcase for you to enjoy sharing your work with other visitors and have the opportunity to win a great prize too!
Remember to tell us how you made your photographs with any technical information or anecdotes that visitors may find interesting. Simply fill in the description field during the submission process.
I'll look forward to publishing the winning photographs in the exclusive The Winners' Gallery.
iPhoneography...
Perhaps you use the stunning iPhone Apps such as Hipstamatic or Plastic Bullet to create your photographic masterpieces?
Great!
I love these Apps and use them all the time myself...
iPhoneographs are more than welcome here!
Need to Edit Your Photographs...?
Do you need to crop, resize, edit or rotate your photographs before entering my free photography contests?
For example, the digital photograph(s) you enter must be no larger than 800x600 pixels but I recommend preparing your image with a longest dimension of 400 pixels.
If you're a Photoshop user, you'll be pleased to know that I've created a FREE downloadable Photoshop Action to help you prepare your entry.
If you don't own Adobe Photoshop, why not try a free online service such as Creative Kit at Google+?
